Renting
Rent a room or home, without the runaround.
One clear monthly price, a home checked before you move in, and a team that answers. Browse what is available now, or tell us what you need and hear first when it comes up.
What you get
Renting, the way it should be.
One clear price
Every listing shows the monthly rent and exactly what it includes, such as bills, broadband and cleaning of shared areas.
Checked before you move in
Gas, electrical and alarm checks, an energy rating of E or better, and an HMO licence where the law requires one.
Your money protected
At most one month’s rent up front. Your deposit is capped at five weeks’ rent and protected in a government scheme.
Repairs that get done
Report a repair online and track it. Emergencies get a fast response.
Everyone welcome
Children, benefits, and pet requests are all welcome. We look at whether the rent is affordable for you, not where your income comes from.
A secure tenancy
Periodic tenancies under the Renters’ Rights Act. Stay as long as you keep to the tenancy, and leave with two months’ notice.

FAQ
Questions renters ask
What is included in the price?
Each listing says. For rooms in shared homes, bills (energy, water, broadband and council tax) are usually included, so you pay one amount each month. For whole homes, you usually pay bills yourself.
How much do I pay before I move in?
At most one month’s rent, once you have signed the tenancy, plus a deposit of up to five weeks’ rent. If you want to reserve a home while checks are done, a holding deposit of up to one week’s rent comes off what you pay later.
Can I have a pet?
Ask. The law lets you request a pet, and we consider every request properly. The listing shows where pets are already welcome.
I have children, or receive benefits. Can I rent?
Yes. Refusing tenants for either reason is unlawful, and we would not do it anyway. We check that the rent is affordable for you, whatever your source of income.
How do repairs work?
Report them online and you can see where your repair is up to. Emergencies, such as no heating in winter or a serious leak, get a fast response.
Can my rent go up?
At most once a year, with at least two months’ notice, and you can challenge an increase at an independent tribunal if you think it is above the market rate.
How do I leave?
Give two months’ notice. Your deposit is returned through the protection scheme, less any agreed deductions.
